Choosing the right photographer is just one of many complex decisions you're making right now to plan your perfect wedding, so I've put together a few facts about Blissful Images that I hope will make your decision easier.
Most photographers will show you the best images from a wedding. At our website you can view ALL the images from a wedding. That way, you know we didn't just get a few good shots. We prove the entire wedding was a success. Since your wedding is once-in-a-lifetime, we think that's pretty important.
We also think it is important that you don't trust your wedding memories to someone who does not meet industry standards. I know when I shop for a mechanic, doctor, etc., I would not even consider one that was not certified, which is why I, Jenni Merrill (owner and photographer) am not only an active member of the Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of Iowa, but am also Certified by Professional Photographers of America. I successfully completed a written exam as well as submitted a selection of work to a panel of judges. Professional Photographers of America decided after meeting their rigorous requirements measuring artistic, technical, and ethical and business competence, to designate me as a PPA Photographer. Fewer than 2,500 photographers hold this title worldwide and I am one of only 3 photographers in Peoria with this title
.A few other things that set us apart from other photographers are:
We always have 2 photographers at every wedding-not just an assistant.
You have the ability to earn the DVD of your wedding 'negatives'.
We have NO limits on the time at the church (we often start at least 3 hours before the ceremony) and NO limits on number of photographs taken (between 250-450 at the moment)
All images ordered from are retouched.
We offer a fabulous financing option so you can pay for your wedding in 12 monthly installments with no added costs or fees for doing so. Plans start around $200 a month! Our all-inclusive packages currently range from $2400-5000 .
All wedding packages include newspaper prints, online viewing and ordering, a wall portrait, a slideshow of all your images set to copyright free music and a custom designed wedding album (while you're on our website, be sure to check out our album designs).
All prices are based within 2 hours of Peoria which can save you in mileage fees!
One of the other unique things about Blissful Images is how we do our engagement session. Because many of our couples live out of town or have already had engagement pictures taken, they are not included in our packages. A typical engagement session is $149 HOWEVER, we have a really fun alternative! We will photograph your engagement session and instead of payment, youand your fiancé take wedding photographer Jenni and her husband Luke to dinner. Nothing extreme...Applebee's or something on those lines is great. This way you get to really know your photographer on a personal level making your wedding photographs more like being photographed by an old friend. Also...the guys will enjoy that Luke is not involved in photography so they can talk about other things besides the wedding photography.
We have couples often ask us why wedding photography costs what it does. While we can't speak for all photographers, here is our reasoning behind the pricing: Your 2 photographers will put every ounce of energy and enthusiasm into your wedding photographs. This often means going to bed pretty early on Friday night to be ready for a Saturday wedding. Often, upon arriving home after your wedding, our photographers are completely drained of energy and do not get to go out and do things on Saturday evenings they might otherwise have done. Sunday's are spent recovering from all the excitement of photographing your wedding. Even though we may only be with you for 4-9 hours on your wedding day, the entire weekend is pretty much spent on your wedding in this way. For this reason we feel the need to compensate our photographers well for their entire weekend.
Your custom designed wedding album is another large portion of cost. Our graphic designer spends on average a 40 hour work week on your album from the initial design to retouching and uploading for printing. The album itself costs about what the 40 hours of labor costs.
When you add it all together, our wedding coverages don't seem too expensive.
