I have known Vicki for several years and have adored her since the moment we met. She is always such an inviting friend and her contagious laugh makes you feel happy. Every moment I have spent with her, including a few Bunko times on the boat, were always a complete hoot. Plus, she gives amazing hugs-something I really admire in a person :-)
When she and her husband Tom, asked me to photograph their boat and a few with them I was honored. The have so many wonderful memories aboard and now they are on to new adventures and I just know the next owner will love being able to call this beauty theirs.
I had a blast during Hailey's session. She had chosen some very flattering outfits and we selected the most perfect locations around Peoria and even in Pekin. She was such a sport and willing to do any pose I wanted to try, even the ones in the leaves! Got to try out a new location I had been wanting to visit too! I had a great time getting to know Hailey and her mom. She is a softball player and I especially enjoyed the ones with her jerseys and gear on the field. It was so difficult to pick which portraits to have printed and I know they are happy to be able to see them all in the image video. Can't wait to hear what their friends and family think. She is so photogenic!
I love photographing weddings but have chosen not to do more than a couple a year so I can have a flexible schedule to attend weekend events with my kids. I have missed them and since I love weddings I have been very happy to have gotten to do 3 in the past month. How fun! This wedding was especially wonderful for me to get to be a part of because of our friendship.
In 2009 I moved to Peoria to be close to 3 amazing couples who I love dearly and consider my family. Scott and Tammy Senti, Rick and Kim Gibson and Scott and Becky Rosenberg. We have fun every time we get together and I wanted to live close to them and loved Peoria so it was a win! Shortly after I moved here, the Rosenbergs decided to relocate to Florida. I always thought I would follow them there but then I met Ryan and plans changed.
In 2014 Becky was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and passed away. It broke all of our hearts and Scott was lost without her. He found love again though in Nancy and when he asked me to be their wedding photographer I was honored! Nancy is funny and kind and a joy to be around and I look forward to having more chances to visit them in Clearwater Beach and get to know her better!
Their wedding was so beautiful. Picture perfect event center and everything was amazing! They decided to combine their last names of 'Rosenberg' and 'Romano'. The first 3 letters of his and last 3 of hers and both took the last name Rosano. They are such a thoughtful couple that there was even a picture of Becky on the memorial table as you entered the building.
They are now enjoying their honeymoon and I am enjoying watching the Facebook posts! So many people I knew at this wedding. Friends from Peoria, Ohio and Colorado as well as friends I had only known on Facebook until the wedding that live in Florida. Absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony, venue and couple and I know they will be blessed with many, many happy years together!!!
It really is...at least according to the calendar. Now if you go outdoors, it's in the 80's today so it doesn't FEEL like it but hopefully it will for the family portrait sessions this weekend. October has started off with a bang! After spending the last week of September in Florida photographing a wedding (I am SO thankful it wasn't THIS Thursday as the hurricane is pending!) I had a wedding to photograph October 1st as well. Now to kick this cold or whatever illness has had a grasp on me and I will be all set! Nearly every Saturday and Sunday in October is booked and several weekdays and weeknights as well. I love summer but am so excited for all the family portraits in the leaves that October brings as well! If you are considering having your portrait made this fall, get in contact with me ASAP as only a handful of times remain!
We photographers are creatives. We do great with all the art photography stuff but usually fall flat when it comes to business, financial stuff, marketing and website design. we love to photograph but not so much the business building stuff.
I DO in fact really love the business aspect. Marketing is my very favorite and I love it almost as much as photography. Numbers, financial and budget...ugh...not my cup of tea!
I have been finding it challenging to find new clients. I find many through my charitable donations to silent auctions and raffles and through word of mouth, but as far as people contacting me out of the blue-crickets.
I realized it was because my website SEO (search engine optimization) needed some serious work. I thought this would be SO dull and boring but it's kind of like a fun game for me so I am pleasantly surprised! The key is figuring out what people are searching for on Google and then making sure my website has that specific content all new and shiny for the search engines to find!
The thing I need to know is what people are searching for? If you were looking for a photographer, what would you Google?
Since I specialize in Family Portraits, the things I came up with are:
Peoria Family Portrait Photographer
Peoria Family Photographer
What would YOU search for?
Every person to e-mail me a list of search ideas will get a FREE JamPocket
from JamBerry in Dunlap
The person with the most ideas
will win a free 11x14 print of
'You Will Never Have this Day with Your Children Again'
that I designed.
Winner will be announced on Thursday, September 1st.
I have had the privilege to photograph a lot of peoples 'best day ever' in my 16 years as a professional photographer.
Weddings, births, baptisms, 1st communions.
Yesterday was a first for me. I had the honor of witnessing and photographing an adoption 3 long years in progress and the formation of this family becoming legal. It was an amazing event and I hope to have the chance to do this type of work again because adoption day is such a monumental moment in the life of a family and should be captured by a professional family portrait photographer!

Summer 2016 has been wonderful. From working in the yard, gardening, swimming, camping and family fun, I am not ready for it to be over with! Summer is my favorite season and I am not ready for my 4 year old to go back to Pre-K. Okay, maybe I am a LITTLE ready :-)
Fall is right around the corner and it's my busy season. I do most of my sessions in October. In fact, I do more session in October than the rest of the year COMBINED!
Blissful Images is again having the Fall Family Portrait Special to benefit my favorite charity Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. It's an event we do every other year in Peoria and families each receive a mini session, 11x14 print and a warm feeling knowing a portion of the proceeds is donated to this special charity. The event is not open for sign ups quite yet. 1st Blissful Images will notify all past clients and give them 1st dibs on times. Then we will open it to people who have not been photographed by Blissful Images before but have requested to be on the list. Then we will promote on Facebook and in ads and lastly, we will take fliers and materials to local businesses to spread the word. This event always sells out so if you want to be notified when you can sign up, please click on the 'contact me' link.
I am really excited to announce that Blissful Images will host a Limited Edition Mini Session on Sunday, February 21st.
The portrait sessions will be themed ‘Snowbabies’ and features a session of your child aged sitting to 18 months dressed as ‘Frosty’ including diaper cover, buttons, scarf, hat and orange nose.
$10 of every session will be donated to the March of Dimes.
Session times are by appointment only.
I designed the theme after being inspired by a portrait of a child dressed as frosty. I saw the image and it was so adorable! I had to have one of my daughter and thought others might feel the same. I plan to hang a canvas of this image seasonally in my home. I love donating back to area organizations, events and fundraisers, so partnering with the March of Dimes was a perfect fit for this Limited Edition Mini Session.
This session was taken at Grandma's house on her land. What a breathtaking view! The lake was so perfect! In fact, everything about this session was perfect! Clothing, cooperation, weather...loved it!
The only problem we had was deciding which ones to make into wall art :-)
