The Gossett family is the type of family photographers love. They were fun, easy going and wanted to do some silly and fun stuff. We even re-created a picture from when the kids were small where they were all in direct sun and squinting. Too funny!
We started at their beautiful home and got some with it in the background. They have only been there a year and are restoring it to it's original majestic beauty. What a fun project! Then we went to the old train depot in Canton. I am really glad we got their sign with their name and 'established' date in some of the images. Really gave it meaning. Mom mentioned it had been a long time since they had a professional session and I couldn't help but think the next time they all do this will likely be when one of the kids gets married. I knew when I went to their home to choose their images it was going to be tough. Mom and Dad loved their images and really worked together to pick the very best ones for their wall. I loved getting to know them all and being able to be the photographer who did their session after not having one for so long. Mom and Dad went on vacation between the session and the big reveal of images and took a day trip to Isle Mujeres as I told them how much fun I had there when we went to Cancun. Getting to know my clients to the point I can call them friends is so rewarding!

Could these 3 be any cuter!?!
From Jensen's pink boots to Aubrey's missing 2 front teeth and the way Evan is hugging everyone together...I just adore this! I can't wait to do a family portrait sometime next year and get to hang out with these 3 again :-) We did their session at their new house their parents are renovating. It's already a beautiful home and will be stunning when they are done. All three were all full of giggles and smiles and it was sure hard to pick a favorite but this one was it. I am really excited they will have this beautiful portrait in a canvas as the focal point of the living room and it can be seen from the entryway. Nothing better than coming home after a long day to a beautiful portrait of your smiling kids to greet you :-) I have been a NILMDTS photographer since 2006. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month so I wanted to share some posts the families I have photograph put online. If you are interested in volunteering there are NEW NON-Photographer roles available. Please join this Facebook group and consider attending out quarterly recruitment meeting in November! https://www.facebook.com/groups/PotentialNILMDTSVolunteersPeoriaArea/ I have recently had a LOT of requests to include angel babies in family portraits and have been working on how to do this. Here is one I recently did:
The Hodge Family was all set for a perfect session. They selected great clothing, an amazing location (Mom's beautiful yard) and made sure little Gavin had a full tummy. We got lots and lots of smiles from everyone and even took a short hike to this amazing spot for a few. Had to pick a few burrs out of my pants but it was totally worth it! What a great day and wonderful portraits we made!
This family is so close and has lots of fun together. They are always on the go at a park or festival and love to be outside so Luthy Botanical Garden was a great spot for their session!
Didn't mom do a wonderful job on timeless clothing?!? LOVE this one! Everyone was so cooperative and full of smiles. Perfect weather, wonderful family and beautiful location-what more can you ask for? Local Photographer Earns Recertification
Jenni Williams of North Pekin Maintains Excellence as a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP). North Pekin, IL—Jenni Williams of North Pekin reaffirmed her status as an elite photographer, once again earning the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Williams, who owns and operates Blissful Images in North Pekin, successfully completed the requirements required to keep her CPP designation. Every three years, CPPs must show that they have maintained the mark of excellence that the CPP designation represents. Williams earned this designation after meeting challenging requirements that measure her artistic and technical competence. PPA currently recognizes fewer than 2,500 Certified Professional Photographers. “When I first became a Certified Professional Photographer in 2005, I did so because I wanted the credentials that prove I am a true professional. You wouldn't go to a Doctor or a Lawyer that didn't have their industry credentials, so why trust your most valued tangible memories to a photographer who can't prove they are a leader in their industry. Having my Certification makes me a better photographer and I strive to grow and learn all the time. I believe continuing education, while certainly not required to be a photographer, is a very important aspect of this profession.” Professional Photographers of America is the leading body for certifying imaging professionals in the U.S. Certified Professional Photographers must pass a written examination, submit a portfolio for review and adhere to a strict code of conduct that upholds their mark of excellence. Certification must be renewed every three years, ensuring continuing confidence in the professionalism of Certified Professional Photographers. For more information on PPA visit PPA.com. To learn more about the certification program go to certifiedphotographer.com and to view samples of Williams work and for booking information, visit www.BlissfulImages.com We believe in professional photography - but more than that we believe in photographs. We can hold on to them, pass them around, frame them and enjoy them for generations.
We are passionate about creating photographs printed on professional paper. We want future generations looking at and touching photographs, not a piece of technology. Some photographers shoot photos, edit them and burn them on a disk or drive and make a few bucks. We care too much about your images, you and future generations that might have no photographs because we wanted to make fast and easy money selling files. We start with a pre-session consultation. This can be done in-person, over the phone or via e-mail. We will plan every detail from location to clothing. We will give you our best tips and hints to ensure we will create portraits you can display on your wall so every morning in the craziness at breakfast, between ‘Mom, where’s my homework’ and ‘He’s touching me!’ you can take a moment, breathe in deeply and remember exactly why you love your blessed life so much. Our goal is to help you feel prepared and relaxed for your upcoming session. The trend right now in home décor is to personalize your space. We specialize in creating custom photographic art of your family. We combine our passion, genuine love of art, unique style and personality to ensure your portrait will truly be one of a kind art piece designed just for you. Anything we can incorporate to make your session more personal and emotional will make it even more special to you and your family in the coming years. It will be more than just a portrait, it becomes a story of your family and all the joy you share! Here are some ideas: Recreating something your family did when your kids were younger now that they are older (picnics) Physical things that have meaning like antique cars, musical instruments or family heirlooms. Special places to your family are always fun for sessions! Activities you all enjoy doing such as camping, boating, playing games or walking the dog. Specializing in newborn, family and children's photography, our goal is to take the stress out of your session. We load lights, backgrounds and props into the Blissful Images van and drive up to an hour each way to magically transform your home into a portrait studio. No packing your little ones up while hoping Jill doesn't wreck her hair in the car or that Billy doesn't have a blowout. Finally at your in-person order selection appointment you will be awed by a custom designed slideshow of your portraits followed by being walked through the process of selecting the perfect portraits of your family for yourselves and to gift to family and friends. We will share our ideas and vision for your wall art so you can adore your portraits for years to come. We will give our expert advice for choosing the perfect frame for your final portraits. Once you receive your portraits all you will have to do is hang them up and enjoy! As your children get older and want the car keys instead of a trip to the park, you can look at your portrait every day and relive the fun times with the kids that were forever captured by Blissful Images |
