I met Becky Garvey several years ago when I started attending a church in Peoria. She was such a sweetheart and we became good friends. I had the privilege of photographing Elaina’s birth and couldn’t wait to do her newborn session with her big brothers. Everyone did so great and we got beautiful portraits that I know their family will treasure for a lifetime.

Haylie really stole the show for her family portraits recently. You can really see the love between her and big brother Jarrett. I just love seeing how this family interacts together. They were so sweet and such a fun session!
Mom was worried because Haylie had scuffed up her nose a few days before the session but after a little bit of post production enhancements Haylie looked picture perfect! The Bryant family was such a joy to work with. Lisa had everyone in beautiful clothing and it complimented each other wonderfully. The three kids smiled and laughed and did everything I asked of them and mom couldn’t be happier with the final portraits. I can’t wait to see the canvas hanging in their family room!
One of the most rewarding parts of being a photographer is repeat clients. I photographed Danielle’s family last year and her daughter Lilliana won the Cutest Kids Contest at her work for the second year in a row. The contest prize was a portrait session with Blissful Images! Danielle made Lilliana’s beautiful skirt and we had a ball doing their session with their new dog. I just love the fall colors in these portraits.
We met the Harris family when we moved into our house as they are our next-door neighbors. Megan loves children and had occasionally done in home babysitting. So when I mentioned I was looking for someone she was the perfect fit. She’s conveniently located and she and her husband Jeff adore our children. Our children refer to them as Aunt and Uncle! We had a beautiful day for their family portraits and included the grandparents and Megan’s brother as well. It was hard to pick favorites from this session so I am going to show you a few.
Henry was an absolute doll for his newborn session. We did the session at his grandma’s house when he was just a few weeks old. I especially loved the Cubs portrait that mom and dad wanted to do (Go Cubs!). Don’t you think he’s just adorable?
When I pulled up for this session and everyone started climbing out of their vehicles I knew we were going to have a great time. Their clothing is so wonderful for a large group and everyone had me laughing the entire time. The sales appointment was the exact same way!
I love photographing large groups and think it's like putting together a puzzle. You can force it the wrong way or keep moving parts around to get the perfect fit and that's what we have here. Such a fun and loving family and they were a joy! Nicole came to me with so many wonderful ideas. She picked a location near their home where the kids liked to play and brought some things from her home to incorporate to really give her session that personal one of a kind feel.
When we sat down to decide what to order it was tough. SO many amazing images. We came up with this design of canvases for the grand staircase and it's going to look stunning! Still trying to deal with the beautiful chaos that is created when you do 40 sessions in 30 days. I am running pretty much on schedule and trying to get all caught up so once you order your Christmas gifts I can get the turned around really quick!
I had such a beautiful and blessed fall with amazing weekends and picture perfect clients! Families were the majority of the sessions with a few children only sessions, 2 seniors and a newborn. Here is one of my favorite images from this fall. What do you think? This guy melted my heart! He wasn't very excited about picture day but after we talked and played around a little he warmed right up to it.
We did some of him and some family ones. I asked him what we should say that was silly. He could barely contain his excitement in the most hysterical thing he could think to say. "Deez Nuts" I had not idea what that meant at the time and when I found out later on it was even funnier but every time he said it I would double over laughing. His voice was so animated and comical. What a card this little guy is. I didn't want the session to end because we were joking and playing around and having a great time! We got so many wonderful smiles but this serious one where he is still for a moment just warms my heart |
